Sarah PalinÂ’s Yahoo account hijacked, e-mails posted onlineOn the heels of media reports that Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was using a private Yahoo e-mail account (gov.palin@yahoo.com) to conduct Alaska state business, hackers have broken into the account and posted evidence of the hijack on Wikileaks.

An activist group calling itself 'anonymous' claimed responsibility for the compromise and released screenshots, photographs and the e-mail addresses of several people close to Palin, including her husband Todd and assistant Ivy Frye.

Sarah PalinÂ’s Yahoo account hijacked, e-mails posted online

Here's the announcement from Wikileaks:

Circa midnight Tuesday the 16th of September (EST) Wikileaks’ sources loosely affiliated with the activist group ‘anonymous’ gained access to U.S. Republican Party Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s Yahoo email account gov.palin@yahoo.com. Governor Palin has come under criticism for using private email accounts to avoid government transparency mechanisms. The zip archive made available by Wikileaks contains screen shots of Palin’s inbox, example emails, address book and two family photos. The list of correspondence, together with the account name, appears to re-enforce the criticism.

The list of e-mails include an exchange with Alaskan Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell about his campaign for Congress and an e-mail from Amy McCorkell, whom Palin appointed to the Governor's Advisory Board on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in 2007.

Wired's Threat Level reports that McMcCorkell confirmed that she did send the e-mail to Palin.

Following the release of this story, both Sarah Palin's better known account gov.sarah@yahoo.com and the gov.palin@yahoo.com account have been suspended or deleted as revealed by a test email sent to these addresses by Wikileaks. Although the reasons for the deletion of both accounts can not not yet be established, one interpretation is that Palin is trying to destroy her email records.

Wikileaks said it may release additional e-mails should they prove be of political substance.

Here's one screenshot of an e-mail released by the group.

  • Devilcrats Strike again

The Demoncrats know they are losing so they violate Sarah's civil rights in a deparate attempt to find a scandal. They are truly evil people.

    • And you know it is the Democrats because...

      ...you're paranoid?

Could be a Republican who doesn't like her.

      • Wat

So you point out an unlikely scenario by putting forward an idea that is FAR MORE unlikely.

        Nice.

        • Hmm?

Lots of Republicans don't like her.

Lots of Democrats don't like her.

Lots of people don't like her.

Because she's completely full of sh*t, has zero clue what's going on in government, has no foreign policy experience other than being able to see Russia (what a stupid thing to say, honestly), wants to take rights away from women, including their right to get their rapes investigated in the event of them being poor (she made them pay for their own rape kits in her home town...couldn't spend an estimated $14,000 investigating horrible crimes, but $20 million for a stadium is a-okay) or to not have to birth a child that was conceived through violence or incest, wants to teach religion in public schools, says she's against earmarking, but took more earmarked dollars per capita than any other state, thinks that Iraq is responsible for 9/11, wants to go to war with Russia, shoots defenseless animals from helicopters with high-powered rifles, came into her town of 5,500 as mayor with a surplus and left them in the hole so deep they can barely see daylight (over $20 million in debt...that's around $4,000 per person)....

On second thought, you're right...why would anyone dislike her?

          • Wait...you forgot a country she made a "foreign policy" trip to...Ireland!

Oops I got confused. It wasn't a foreign policy trip...it was a FUEL STOP for the airplane.

            Silly me.

          • It counts

            You're right. It counts.

I also forgot that she claimed to have visited Iraq...but she didn't.

And that she claimed that she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere....but she didn't. Not until Alaska was expected to foot some of the bill. Kept the money though.

          • So, she sounds just like Obama, Clinton,

and that idiot Joe Biden. McCain ain't the shapest tack either.

They're all liers, plain and simple, the main thing is who's lies won't get in the way of my life.

          • Yes. So?

            What was your point?

All politicians suck? That was kind of the point. Did you have something relevant to say?

She may be actually be the anti-Christ though....
            laura.b
          • WoW!

How bad a day are you going to have when she is the VP!
            ShadeTree
          • @Shadetree

I believe you mean "if." In case you were unaware, Obama still leads in electoral votes. And we haven't made it to the debates yet. The whole game could change in any number of ways when both sides are pitted directly against each other. Of course, partisanship is completely ridiculous, and both are good for some people, and bad for others, and very rarely does someone agree wholehog with one side over the other. I'm relatively indifferent to which candidate wins the presidency, though I tend to agree more with the Dems on this one, mostly I don't support this war and they are more likely to withdraw from it, but that doesn't make me any different than 2/3 of the rest of the country. The Vice Presidency isn't as big of an issue unless the President dies or resigns. Then maybe we'll worry about it. My husband says Canada is pretty nice. ;)

I wouldn't so much have a problem with McCain, but looking at the guy... I'm not so sure Palin wouldn't end up being the pres. Her I wouldn't vote for.

Sorry, but for all the empowering speaches Obama gives... I don't trust him either. Guess I'm back to writing in Mickey Mouse! j/k

          • @Badgered

I'm not much of a fan either.

Unfortunately, we're back to choosing the lesser of two evils again.

It's pretty obvious which ticket represents less evil. It would have been a draw a couple of weeks ago. Too bad McCain couldn't have picked a decent human being for a running mate. If he absolutely had to have a woman, there were quite a few qualified ones available.

            Illustrative of very poor judgement.

          • Tiring

Wow, the Extreme Left's banter is really tiring. They are on a hunt to discredit Palin at all costs. Tiring.....

          • Just to clarify...

.. it was an aide of hers that said that and also an aide said she visited Iraq when actually, she went to Kuwait. Sara Palin NEVER claimed them.
            Yessongs
          • The Mccain campaign included these in official releases

Shouldn't Palin have had the basic integrity to correct them?

          • And everyone still likes her better than the Obamanation.

And everyone still likes her better than the Obamanation. You demoncrats really know how to turn out the candidates. Al Gore, the man who thinks he invented the Internet, then Herman Munster and now the Obamanation. Is it any wonder you continue to lose the elections. Dumb, Dumber and the man who is going to bring some sort of vague CHANGE. What people are now calling the Obamanation.
            marf123
          • Which "you" are you referring to?

Democrats? That doesn't include me, bub. I'm neither a Republican or a Democrat. I don't dislike McCain or Obama. I do dislike Palin. There are plenty of solid reasons to. You needn't be a Democrat to be able to recognize bull dookie. You do need to be able to think for yourself instead of swallowing political rhetoric whole.
            laura.b
          • Thank you...

People really should be rather outraged at her being anywhere close to the presidency. It was one thing to say Obama is inexperienced but at least he is in the right neighborhood. This lady had to go to tutoring sessions the day she was picked and can't talk to the media until she finishes the crash course.

I'm not a Rep or Dem but agree more with the Dems than Reps. But the Reps themselves especially the women like Kay Bailey Hutchinson should be INFURIATED. Palin amounts to nothing more than a token to draw votes from the people that don't pay attention to issues whatsoever.

          • Don't sweat him

I've seen enough bad word mangling in this Talkback to realize how uninspired they are.

It's sad--it reminds me of Terry Pratchett's clowns. It's like they're put here to remind us how tragically unfunny that kind of stuff can be.

Alternatively, you could say they're nearing five exclamation marks on the sanity scale.

          • Ok, Where is yoru proof

I want to see you proof on all these charges you have made against the Govener.. Alot of them the left wing media tossed out. Once how they were nothing by lies was proven by members of the media and press who believe that the media and press should present the truth as it is.. and not put a left wing spin on the facts to fit into their personal ideas.
