ZoneAlarm is prechecking a toolbar--which could be seen as crapware--when it is installed.

The issue, highlighted by SunBelt Software, creates quite a cycle. Security vendor bundles in a toolbar with its software--and hopes you don't unclick the option. Then that toolbar is targeted. More malware arrives. Then the security company sells you more software to thwart the toolbar it just installed. Sure security companies that offer free software need to make some dough too, but prechecking a questionable toolbar (image courtesy of Sunbelt) isn't a good way to go.

The Ask toolbar has a checkered history as it is. Needless to say the comments to SunBelt's blog weren't complimentary.
