Ask one ofyour IT folks to define Web services. Ask two others. They won't match.We asked folks around the room - it was pretty grim. It's either got tobe simplified, or radically rethought. As you know, I also believe simplicity and volume always win --and that today's Web services initiatives are in danger of vastlyovercomplicating a very simple (really simple) solution."
As you may have seen in previous posts, there are some that worry about text-based XML being too bloated, which may bring many of today's systems to their knees. What Jonathan Schwartz may be talking about however, is not technical, but the bloat on mindshare -- too many initiatives from too many vendors. He worries that we'll all get disgusted and throw it all out the window.
