It isn't often that you see a groundswell of opposition rise to a specification in "Last Call" mode. That's why there's been quite a bit of buzz in the blogosphere and beyond over Rich Salz's scathing critique of the new Web Services Description Language spec (WSDL 2.0). "WSDL 2.0 is the worst example of architecture astronautics I have ever seen," he wrote. For example, the WSDL 2.0 document never defines what a WSDL file looks like.
