When computers talk to each other, conversationally

People reading this blogsite make it their business to get systems and applications to talk to each other, and there is a plenty of good technology to make that happen.

But getting the brightest computers to talk to each other in a conversational mode often gets unexpected -- and hilarious results, as Igor Labutov, Jason Yosinski, and Hod Lipson of the Cornell Creative Machines Lab found when they put two chatbots together.  Needless to say, the conversation may not rise to the level of the Turing Test.  Then again, I've heard far less-intelligent conversation on some reality shows.
