SMB security software developer ESET, which claims an installed base of close to 100 million users worldwide, has updated its antivirus and endpoint security products. Both offerings come in small-business bundles that offer protection for up to 15 users for two years for less than $1,000.
The ESET Endpoint Security product is the richer of the two offerings.
The major differentiator for the software is that it includes content filtering, two-way firewall and client antispam protection - not just protection from spyware, worms, viruses and other malware that can mess with your computers and sap small-business productivity.
The content filtering feature helps small businesses limit access to certain web sites by category, according to rules that are defined by company policies. As you might expect, there is extensive support for gaming, shopping and social networking sites. As business usage of sites like Facebook and Twitter grows, the need to regulate and monitor activity is growing.
The ESET Endpoint Security product comes in several bundles that are focused on small-business customers. A 15-PC bundle that is good for up to two years of updates is priced at slightly less than $1,000 on the developer's Web site.
