Mobile app creates Constant Contact campaigns via handheld

By | February 15, 2012, 8:55am PST

Summary: Partnership with DIDMO, creator of the Magmito mobile app creation tool, will enable small businesses to extend their marketing campaigns to mobile targets.

Emarketing specialist Constant Contact and mobile applications developer DIDMO have integrated their technologies, a move that will enable small businesses to use their handheld devices to create and promote marketing campaigns via mobile devices.

DIDMO’s mobile application, Magmito, is part of the Constant Contact AppConnect Partner Program. The application allows for the creation of marketing messages, featuring QR scanning codes, that are delivered to mobile phones, smartphones and other mobile devices.

“Our mutual goal is to make it as easy as possible for SMBs to enter the mobile marketing space and optimize their marketing and communications using this channel,” said Angelo Biasi, DIDMO vice president of business development, in a press release announcing the integration. “This integration is the first step towards achieving that goal.”

The integration will allow Constant Contact users (approximately 500,000 small businesses) to create mobile apps that interact with their Constant Contact account. The apps can include images, video, text, RSS feeds and click-to-call features. On the flip side, Magmito users (there are about 15,000) can use Constant Contact accounts to promote their mobile content via email, social media and other distribution vehicles.

Writing publicly about what the high-tech industry is actually doing to help itself and the world get greener or more sustainable is one way I figure I can contribute more meaningfully to said effort. I am also a big OMG-kind-of-fan of smart leadership, which is why the goodly folks who publish this blog let me go on about this topic and why I am always on the hunt for forward-looking business management ideas.

My daily writing is focused on looking for topics for my blogs, GreenTech Pastures and Business Brains. I also write often about emerging technology trends such as mobile computing, unified communications and cloud computing. Occasionally, I will pop up at an industry conference in some sort of speaking capacity. In cases where a speaking engagement involves a sponsor that may be covered in this blog, that fact will be disclosed in coverage as appropriate.

My corporate writing work usually consists of crafting research white papers about some aspect of technology. In the event that my commentary (in written, audio or video form) mentions a company for which I have provided consulting advice, I will disclose that fact. However, there is no connection between these projects and the topics that I'm covering in my blog.
