Spyware Confidential

The sickest thing I've ever seen

By | March 15, 2006, 7:32pm PST

I just read a couple of news stories about an international internet child porn ring that was busted today. CNN’s story here and Reuters’ article here. I won’t reiterate the details — they’re far too disturbing and sickening.

You might wonder what this has to do with spyware. In my travels into some of the murkier parts of the internet I have stumbled upon a few child porn sites, a very few, thankfully. I want people to know, if they ever come upon a child porn site, where to report it.

The site is MissingKids.com. The reporting form is here, and there’s lots of info at http://www.cybertipline.com/.

I'm all for cutting their nuts off and feeding them to dogs. Maybe that sort of punishment would make these sickos think twice about acting out and/or making money from such revolting fantasies.

Give it 20 years
baggins_z 16th Mar 2006
The APA is already publishing articles saying this sort of thing is healthy for child psychological development.

in 20 years, child pornography will be the new "gay rights" movement and people like you will be given some "phobic" label and demonized for your intolerance of someone else's private life.

What is the APA?

Healthy? In whose minds? If what you say comes true, and I don't think it will, I'm resigning from the human race. sad

APA
gwrigg 16th Mar 2006
APA most likely = American Psychological Association. I wouldn't worry too much about any out-of-the-ballpark views they promulgate becoming the norm. If I recall correctly, they have a long-standing reputation for being on the lunatic fringe. And of course there's the possibility of individuals being even further out on the fringe than the APA as a whole. With any luck at all, it's one of their resident wackos saying that early sexualization may be healthy for children.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they actually start screaming for equal rights.

I believe your comment about the American Psychological
Association (APA) is not true. Please cite a work--one will do--
published under the imprimatur of the APA which backs up your
claim. I don't believe you can, because your statement is false.

NAMBLA has been using this article to justify their deeds. In all fairness, the APA has publicly come out against NAMBLA's interpretation.

Also, as has already been asked, let's have some examples of these "articles".

No, they're not
Yaminom 20th Mar 2006
This is simply false. The APA does not consider child molestation
to be healthy, and they have never published any articles saying it
is.

AOL via ODP/DMOZ is contributing to the problem
davidjbaxter@... 16th Mar 2006
As appalling as this is, what is almost more appalling to me is recently learning that the AOL owned directory known as DMOZ or ODP (the Open Directory Project) has an adult section that lists sites promoting pedophilia and child molesting. While some recent public pressure has resulted in some policy changes, the basic problem remains. See http://blog.psychlinks.ca/2006/02/14/aol-owned-dmoz-directory-promotes-child-pornography/ and the very long discussion at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=53712 for further information.

Sickening
jamesgrimes@... 20th Mar 2006
All of this is very sickening. As far as I am concerned, give them life in the slammer. Just knowing you'll die in an orange jump suit without anyone caring about you because you acted on a thought to have sexual intercourse with a child. However, these people usually don't think like that and only what they feel they need at that time, unless you can give them enough pain to make them think twice before even thinking of acting on there thoughts. So, maybe, if you hook there balls up to a car battery and/or to an electric outlet for a while. That kind of shock should straighten them out and keep others from doing these kind of actions.

but yet
prdigalkid@... 20th Mar 2006
if you kill someone you get a life sentance.. but it's okay to ruin a young person who most likely will never be able to live a normal life. i think we should rethink the laws and implicate the death penalty. they just might think twice about little kids. anyways we don't want them in our neighborhoods...... middle of the desert would be nice. hell send them to Iraq........without guns and armor. or better yet... trade them for some hostages.... the best one I think... strap bombs to them and let them blow up some Iraq stuff like how they do to us... there is more then one way to skin a chester!

Mmm the death penalty - There?s a way to hide the problem under the rug - Certainly saves trying to find a way to identify and resolve the issue.

Child molestation is a mental problem. You can cure it by making it a death sentence for the first time offender. Warehousing the offender in a prison is a waste of taxpayer monies. You cannot undo the results of a molestation on a youngster. This problem is extremely widespread within this country and should be addressed as such. Just look at the number of Priests that have been convicted to understand that more agressive measures need to be taken to ensure that a molestation does not go unpunished to the extreme.

The sickest thing.
Dragon56 21st Mar 2006
I totally agree that child pornography is sick.
I would like to see child pornographers labelled as having a mental illness; in fact any sexual aberation should be considered a mental illness.
Whether we believe that the illness can be cured or not, mental illness is what these perverts have.
The only problem here is that if you consider all sexual aberations as an illness, where does that leave the gay community?

If it bothers you so much, don't read it.

People need to know where to report child porn sites if they happen to find one. That was the whole point.
