For those that dread large trade shows CeBIT is a place to avoid. When the Intercity Train (ICE) stops a couple of thousand attendees tramp across to the expo center which consists of a couple of dozen buildings the size of McCormick Place in Chicago. It takes half an hour to work your way to Halle 7, the newly segregated security hall. Along the way you can admire some amazing architecture like this all wood canopyOr this flying saucer.

There are some great things about the convention center though. There are enough restaurants and bistros to feed everybody (almost 100,000 people a day). Half the booths have coffee bars that serve espresso. And by 5 PM a lot of the booths break out wine, beer and snacks. Thank you Finjan Software, Webroot’s booth neighbor, for sharing your beer!
