I've been invited to attend Microsoft's Management Summit 2008 (MMS) in the city of Lost Wages, NV. I will be heading out on Monday and will be at the event throughout the week. I'll post from there if I learn anything interesting and/or useful.

Here's how Microsoft trumpet's the event:

In the past year Microsoft has produced a range of new management products and technologies including 7 new releases within the System Center suite alone. The  MMS 2008 event provides the best way to learn how to apply these solutions in your organization, fueling productivity and building growth. With sessions by technical experts, opportunities to try out new products and meetings to discuss them with leading industry experts and peers, MMS 2008 remins the premiere technical event of the year for IT professionals.

While it's not at all surprising that Microsoft presents this as the premiere technical event of the year, I would suspect event planners at CA, Citrix, EMC, HP, IBM, Oracle, VMware and several other suppliers would disagree. That being said, the event just might be a valuable opportunity for me to learn more about Microsoft's vision for management of virtualized resources and virtualization technology as a whole.

Most of all, I'm looking forward to meeting with Microsoft executives and friends who work at Microsoft.
