I spoke with ThinPrint CEO, Henning Volkmer, about a rather boring, but absolutely necessary function in a computing environment.

Printing is one of those functions that is taken for granted because it is nearly everywhere. It has also been somewhat of a problem when access virtualization, such as that offered by Citrix or Microsoft, is being deployed. It can also be a problem when desktop virtualization is deployed as well. “Why would that be a problem?” many would ask.

The protocols used to send screen information and receive keystrokes, mouse movements and mouse button clicks, such as Citrix’s ICA and Microsoft’s RDB were designed to deal with bursty, short messages not long streams of data that would be received when either a file or when a print job is being sent down to the client.

Long ago (over ten years ago) ThinPrint thought about this problem and developed a solution. Their software could be a handy addition to such an environment.  More information can be found on the company’s website.

Good day to confirm this comment I would appreciate T h e b e s t o f Z D N e t d e l i v e r e d your website very nice to everyone Yes, Oracle is the only one with shared-disk architecture, but that is there advantage. It means you can add or remove nodes and the database lives on. In a shared nothing architecture, if you lose a node, you lose the system. I'm sure Oracle appreciates EMC highlighting their advantage.I also desire to signal in your RSS feeds. Thank you as soon as once again and maintain up the great operate Awesome post! I looked at Thinprint back when I was hunting around for a universal print driver for Terminal Server. As I recall it was needlessly complex (and expensive). We went with Print-IT instead.

Where does Idaho rank? We have been living in Montana for the past 5 years and I am not supri sexy shop to find it #3 on the "worst" list. Considering a sexshopmove to Idaho to escapthe high cost of living a low income in MT. There may not be a sales tax here but they get you if you own property!

I agree with this article that printing is taken for granted almost everywhere. Many may think there is nothing to be worried when it comes to print but there are a lot of factors which can affect a printing job. If one runs out of inkjet cartridges the person will not be able to print the assignment. This may lead to frustration and stress. Sometimes the printer may not work or the inkjet cartridges could be running low in ink.
