The geniuses at Department of Behavior and Logic are working on one of the coolest projects I’ve seen in a while.

Cabana is basically an app maker, built for designers, not coders. At the Launch conference in SF, they built a clone of Instagram in 5 minutes:

They are in the process of adding tons of partner APIs that you could drag and drop components from services like Twitter and Twilio.

Hmm, didn't Google do this last year?

Like its been for two years now.

It all started with Global Search, then Multitasking, then Folders (to accomodate widgets), then .. this that.. recently Apple has enabled hot spot, an Android innovation, and now it is trying to catch up with Voice Activated commands and Navigation.

Which ever way you see it, Apple has been following Androids lead for a while now. But with the new announcements.. this trend will continue. I don't see Android following the retina display or facetime, as to use facetime you need an Android hot spot.. lol!
@Uralbas Funny, i didnt know "wifi" means "android hot spot"
@Uralbas
Yeah but you can't make money with Google, Apple is where the money is... Apple goes for the rich people, they don't mind spending a dollar or two on an app. Android is geared for the chepos, techies, frugal people... they want free

And ads? does anyone really click on ads these days...

Auto-coders only generate crapware
wackoae 12th May 2011
@Peter Perry I haven't found a single tool that can auto generate usable code. All of them just generate a huge amount of garbage that compile into bloatware.
@wackoae Yeah. This sort of thing is not going to result in innovative apps. You actually need to know stuff to make that sort of thing.
@wackoae ...and don't do what you want, and you can't make them do what you want. MS have been doing this for years, template code, autocomplete lines of code. People are impressed because it can spit out a program in 5 minutes. But then, because you don't have any systematic understanding of what's going on, you can't change it to do what you want it to.
@NonZ

Programs like this have been in existence for decades. I used one called Matrix about 25 years ago.

This is NOT cool
The Star King 13th May 2011
The idea you can write any sort of program without knowing programming is disingenuous to say the least. It's a very attractive idea for non-programmers but it just isn't true. We'd all like to be able to program without putting in the effort, just as we'd all like to be quantum physicists without studying at university, but it just isn't possible, some things can only be done through years of effort. We'll have apps without programmers the same day we have surgery without doctors or trials without lawyers.
Apple is all about the Dumbing-Down philosophy. Well designed applications don't exist for the iPhag anyway. You just can't have enough iPhart apps happy

Good day to confirm this comment I would appreciate T h e b e s t o f Z D N e t d e l i v e r e d your website very nice to everyone Yes, Oracle is the only one with shared-disk architecture, but that is there advantage. It means you can add or remove nodes and the database lives on. In a shared nothing architecture, if you lose a node, you lose the system. I'm sure Oracle appreciates EMC highlighting their advantage.I also desire to signal in your RSS feeds. Thank you as soon as once again and maintain up the great operate Awesome post! Thank you very much || thanks for nice content this is really benefit to me.
There could be a better way to do all that lot. I never had to go in Xcode again since I started to create iPone/iPod and iPad applications at Seattle Clouds. This is an online editing system for iOS application.

P.S. I hear Xcode 4 is buggy. Have a good time developing your applications!
Great post. Here???s a tool to use to build your mobile apps in minutes without coding. Just point-and-click http://www.caspio.com/online-database/features/mobile.aspx
