It’s really fun to build a tracklist of music to listen to while you work all day. Now imagine being able to play that music for an audience in a social setting.

You can create channels and anyone can listen or DJ. You go in order, and people can vote your songs up or down.

You can search Turntable’s huge library of tracks or upload your own. You can share songs on social music sites like Last.fm and Spotify.

I’m addicted to it. Especially during the week when everyone’s at work. Have you heard of anything like this?

Andrew Mager is a hacker advocate at Spotify in New York City. Before moving to NY, Andrew worked at SimpleGeo & Ning in San Francisco. Previously, he was an associate technical producer at CBS Interactive. Andrew studied print & electronic journalism at Virginia Tech, where he created a student-run online news publication called Planet Blacksburg.

In 2006, Andrew interned at ESPN in Bristol, CT, working for the Sports Production team doing Javascript and SQL experiments. Prior to that, he worked at the WSLS-TV NBC 10 in Roanoke, VA, as a web intern. In his freshman year of college, Andrew worked at the local ESPN Radio station answering phone calls and writing scripts for the local afternoon talk show.

Spending time with listening to music is always fun to do, especially when we have this awesome turntable.fm. Thanks to the Seth Goldstein who make it available to the public for free. I think everyone enjoys every piece of it. What I like about it is the sharing option. I can share and experience real-time collaboration with my friend in the anti inflammatory foods Inc., or other audiences. This helps me to make new friends, a lot of them. This is amazing. I???m already addicted to it.

personally I like this turntable. It looks very sleek. Somehow the virtual world appears much better than the real world. I hope we can benchmark the real world some day to virtual world.

Well, spending time with listening to music is always fun to do - especially when we have this awesome turntable.fm. Thanks to the Seth Goldstein who make it available to the public for free. I think everyone including my team from Snowboardjacken enjoys every piece of it. What I like about it is the sharing option. @trulyfindpeace I like making my my own music, that's very hands on. I'm not too good at it but I love doing it. There's loads of software to make music with like magix music maker, sonic producer, dub turbo to name a few and share it online and it feels great when people appreciate what you're doing.

This is really cool. I love music and I've always wanted to try DJing and this has just given me a chance to do what I've always wanted to do. I can now show my family in Stoney Creek real estate the music I created through Turntable.fm and my friends living in Toronto condos can hear it too. I also hope to use this to create a song for my cousin's wedding programs.

It means you can add or remove nodes and the database lives on. In a shared nothing architecture, if you lose a node, you lose the system.
