BMC Software intros new portfolio for access to Amazon cloud

BMC Software is building out its global alliance with Amazon Web Services with the announcement of a new and complete cloud services and cloud management portfolio.

Intended to offer better access to the AWS cloud, BMC's JumpStart package will consist of of BMC licenses along with AWS cloud and professional services as well as customer support.

The combination of these services in a unified package is designed to support various enterprise workloads and business applications from the likes of SAP, Oracle and Microsoft (SharePoint) as well as high-performance computing workloads on Amazon Elastic Map Reduce and Amazon DynamoDB.

Enterprise customers should still be able to use existing systems and IT controls with this added access and support for AWS.

The Houston-based business management software provider added that it will continue to partner with Amazon on more go-to-market solutions.

Brad Kern, BMC's vice president of alliances, explained further in a statement that "BMC will work with Amazon Web Services to deliver bundled solutions targeted at addressing key DevOps, Web application and corporate IT use cases."
