With talks of an IPO to happen as soon as next year, Box is working on building a stronger foundation first with the announcement of a more comprehensive network of alliances.
Dubbed the Box Partner Network, the enterprise cloud storage provider is weaving together its existing channel and platform partners with dozens of new ones.
The goals include beefing up Box's software services as well as extending its customer base internationally.
For example, with the unveiling of the Partner Network, Box is also boasting 50 resellers globally in the last few months -- on top of 10 new strategic partners, including Autodesk and IBM Connections, among others.
As for the touted benefits for the members of the Partner Network, Box is promising more flexible contracts and more compensation opportunities than that offered by other cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers.
But for current and potential customers, it looks like Box is on its way to setting itself up as a one-stop shop for enterprise cloud storage and SaaS solutions.
Box CEO and co-founder Aaron Levie said in prepared remarks that we're in the midst of a "once in a generation transition" in which mobile and cloud apps are changing the way we work.
Adding that "content and collaboration sit at the heart of almost every business process," Levie remarked that with the Partner Network, "Box has a huge opportunity to help businesses navigate this massive shift.”
