Unlike the recent two-phase launch of the iPhone 5s and 5c, Apple will be releasing the iPad Air across over 30 European territories at once.

From 1 November, European shoppers will be able to get their hands on the 9.7-inch Retina display tablet through Apple stores, local mobile operators and select Apple authorised resellers. The iPad Air comes in either wi-fi only or wi-fi plus mobile connectivity options, with onboard storage of either 16GB, 32Gb, 68GB or 128GB.

While carriers will offer deals to cut the upfront cost of the tablet, Apple has kept its own pricing fairly consistent across Europe, but there are a few bargains to be had — and a few countries for price-conscious shoppers to avoid.

As usual, it's consumers in the Nordic countries that will have to pay a premium: Swedish shoppers can expect to hand over 15 percent more for the same device than their Swiss counterparts, for example.

So who fares the best in Europe? Bargain hunters shopping for the wi-fi only models would do well to head to Luxembourg, while those wanting mobile connectivity too should look to both Luxembourg or Switzerland.

Here's how pricing for the 16GB and 128GB models breaks down across Europe:
