CeBIT: Cyber speech tools kill typing drudgery
German startup DictaNet Software made its maiden trip to CeBIT this week armed with software that combines speech recognition, workflow and Internet connectivity.
The company, which is planning a stock market listing "soon", works with OEM partners who integrate the software into their own products. It has integrated DictaNet with the more established PC-based Naturally Speaking from speech recognition pioneer Dragon Systems. The Web-enabled software converts speech into text either online as you work, or can hold it in the background for transfer at a later time.
Web-enabling the software offers a cheaper, more efficient way to disseminate the text, the company claims.
