Japan's ASCII iPhone photo leak
The Apple rumor mill has been thrown into overdrive, as reports suggested the release of two new iPhone models this September, aimed at the premium and low-end markets.
Reportedly due to be revealed on Sept. 10, the two new mobile devices are touted to be a way for the tech giant to "regain momentum" and potentially snag marketshare from rival firm Samsung.
Published on Japanese website ACSII, the latest leak in relation to these reports shows new iPhones in a selection of colors, including the rumored champagne gold. Although unconfirmed, these images do seem more plausible than many floating around online.
Will manufacturing be a problem?
According to the website, the phone's new casing is being produced by manufacturer and Apple supplier Moumontai.
Separately, sources at Foxconn, one of Apple's major component suppliers, have said the firm's factories have been producing parts for the smartphones since June. The premium-model will have a metal case, whereas the rumoured budget iPhone may not.
However, maintaining a steady supply of champagne gold iPhones may not be such an easy task due to manufacturing concerns.
The only major difference, except of course the color, appears to be a slightly thinner version of the standard "iPhone" trademark at the back.
Either way, the Chinese are sure to love it.
