Beijing-headquartered Vimicro is a fabless chip company that designs chipsets for PCs and mobile phones. Showtone's Henry Fei, whose company manufactures tablets using chips from Vimicro, demonstrates its phone-tablet hybrid device.
Fei said Showtone is an original design manufacturer (ODM) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Its customers in the region include India's HCL and telco BSNL.
Haier Mobile, the mobile division of Chinese consumer electronics maker Haier, is situated besides Huawei Technologies at the show floor.
