After leaking details of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C ahead of launch, Chinese former teen idol Jimmy Lin again posted pictures of himself with Apple’s next-generation handset ahead of its official release.
Lin posted three pictures on Wednesday of what he claims to be the next Apple handset to his Sina Weibo account, where he has over 48 million followers.
Lin has a “good reputation” in leaking upcoming iPhones as he’s posted pictures of both iPhone 5 in 2012 and iPhone 5C in 2013 on his Weibo account. Both of his disclosures later proved to be accurate descriptions of the features of upcoming models of Apple’s flagship smartphone.
He wrote: “(iPhone 6) owns a 4.7-inch screen. The power button has shifted to the right. The coating for the built-in antenna is no longer hidden inside.”
He added that the rounded corners now offer a good grip and the larger screen suits those who tend to watch videos on the handset.
However, the previous leaks took place only a few days ahead of the new iPhone’s launch date. On this occasion it's at least two months ahead of the expected September or October release date of the next-generation smartphone.
Lin’s new post on the iPhone 6 has been forwarded more than 170,000 times and drew almost 80,000 comments in about 20 hours. But popular replies showed many Chinese netizens feel disappointed at the suspected new iPhone. Most criticize recent iPhone models for being less attractive that their predecessors.
