Drinks company Coca-Cola Amatil said today in an investment conference that it had finished the second phase of its technology transformation, rolling out an SAP supply chain system to over 30 locations.
Around 10,000 customer orders were processed in the first full week of the systems operation, according to the company, with no impact to customer service.
The system is now handling the company's normal business volumes without a hitch. The implementation touched demand, production and transportation planning as well as production execution, distribution, payroll and web services.
There had been concerns the departure of project director Bryce Thompson earlier this year might affect the project. However, the project has remained on time and on budget, according to the company.
The roll-out has been part of a major SAP project called OAisys (One Amatil information system) reportedly worth $65 million. In 2008 Coca-Cola tackled Human Resources, Financials, equipment services and customer relationship management, leaving the supply chain systems to this year.
The next phase of the project will deal with order processing and roll-out the SAP systems to the company's New Zealand business.
