in brief The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has confirmed that a technical glitch has impacted up to 200,000 customers over the past few days.

In a statement issued today, the bank apologised to customers, who had suffered deposit and withdrawal duplications resulting from a "processing problem".

"The bank is reversing the duplicated transactions from customer accounts, which will reinstate the accounts to their correct position," the bank said, noting the fix would be finalised tonight.

Customers affected by the issue and needing to access cash reserves should visit a branch, the bank said, noting no fees or interest would be charged as a result of the problem.

CBA did not disclose the cause of the problem.
