Cyan Nokia Lumia 920 coming to AT&T in November

A couple of days ago AT&T and HTC announced that the HTC Windows Phone 8X was coming in November and today we hear that AT&T is going all in with Windows Phone 8 as the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 will also be coming in November. In addition, we see the first confirmation that a cyan colored Nokia Lumia 920 will be part of the AT&T lineup. Actually, AT&T will be getting the cyan, yellow, red, white and black Nokia Lumia 920. If T-Mobile doesn't announce a Nokia Lumia 920, I will have to decide between a cyan or yellow one on AT&T. I am sticking with the iPhone 5 on Verizon so that carrier is out of consideration.

In addition to the flagship Nokia Lumia 920, AT&T will also get the Lumia 820 in black. You will be able to purchase removable wireless charging shells in yellow, red, cyan, black, and white as well and from what I understand these wrap around the front a bit so essentially turn your device into the color you select for the shell. Now we just need to see more about Windows Phone 8!

  • Cyan and blue are not the same colors!

I worked in television for 10 years and can assure you that cyan and blue were two distinct colors on the "bars" used to adjust the hue on a video tape.

    That phone is definitely Blue.

  • Question!

"If T-Mobile doesn't announce a Nokia Lumia 920" - Are we expecting T-Mobile to make an announcement? The article doesn't specify exclusivity to AT&T. Does that mean that other carriers will receive it as well?

  • Really? That isn't good news for AT&T customers

"AT&T is going all in with Windows Phone 8"

I think AT&T customers should be able to buy iPhones and Android phones if they want. I'm for MORE choice, not less choice. Just because I'm dumping Apple doesn't mean I think that people who want to buy an iPhone shouldn't be able to.

AT&T, please don't go all in with Windows Phone 8. You should continue selling iPhones and Androids to those who want them. This should be a level playing field where no phones are banned (hear that Apple?).

    • Meant they are the premier WP8 launch partner yet again, not dumping others

I did not mean to say they are dumping all other phone choices, obviously. They are fully supporting Windows Phone 8 and according to Mary Jo Foley they look to be the exclusive carrier for the Nokia Lumia 920 :( It looks more and more like AT&T is THE carrier for the smartphone enthusiast who likes to get the latest and greatest devices and I wish other carriers would get more as well.

The good news is that it looks like Verizon and T-Mobile will be getting the HTC Windows Phone 8X so that is a great option for those on other carriers.

  • Cyan Nokia Lumia 920 coming to AT&T in November

AT&T always gets the good phones. I'm still tempted to make that switch but will wait to see what Verizon announces first.

  • I think the cyan was a hit because it was non black or white.

I think with red and yellow the cyan wont be such a big deal. What I dont understand is why they dont have a good green, pink, and blue ones. At Nokia volumes they could even add purple and orange with no problem moving enough of them.

    • Nokia should have chosen "Zune Brown" as the primary Win 8 phone color

Ah, Zune Brown - great memories. What color implies massive sales success than Zune Brown!

  • Hopefully they'll use a better cellular radio

Than the crap one they used in the 900. It was embarrassing to drop more calls than an iPhone 3Gs comsifdering how "great" the 900 was billed as. Turns out it was a fragile PoS with too many "Issues" when it got launched. I didn't wait around for the OS patches that fixed some of the issues, ad bought an iPhone. Nokia lost me as a customer for life, because their phones were crap!

  • Question...

Can one purchase the L920 unlocked and use it on T Mobile's network in the U.S or is there something that restricts it's use for any non-ATT network?

    • Question. . .

Good question - will an unlocked 920 work on T-Mobile? As I won't move to ATT, it will be a problem!
