Dell Direct sales stores have opened in the US, Japan and Singapore, with the first store opening in Australia on the 1st of next month at the Chatswood Westfield Plaza.
Customers will be able to trial Dell's Inspiron notebook and Dimension desktop computers, as well as a broad range of computer peripherals and accessories. Customers can then order their chosen products at the kiosk on line for direct home delivery.
David Miller, managing director for Dell Australia and New Zealand, said direct online sales remains the "core of how consumers purchase our [Dell] products". However, the kiosks open a new opportunity for customers who want to try before they buy.
"This program extends that approach to consumers who have told us that they would also value opportunities to see, touch and actually play with our products as they purchase. It takes all the economies and customer flexibility of buying online and adds a hands-on approach," said Miller.
More stores are expected to be rolled out at various locations throughout the NSW capital.
