Did you know? How to get indexed by Technorati

This will be old news, of course, to the ZDNet faithfuls--Matt Loney pointed a while ago to Mike Barrett's advice on making your Community blog visible to Technorati. This will be old news, of course, to the ZDNet faithfuls--Matt Loney pointed a while ago to Mike Barrett's advice on making your Community blog visible to Technorati. For those who don't know, Technorati is a search engine that combs the blogosphere for answers to queries--but it will only do this with blogs it is tracking. It's a good potential way to boost traffic.

So take a look at Mike Barrett's blog. That should give you most of the info you need. I'll add a couple of notes, based on queries I've received:

1) You need to have made at least one entry to your blog to index it. 2) Technorati will give you some plain html code when you "claim" your blog there. Paste this html at the end of the next blog entry you make, then preview and submit the entry.

We're working on making the "pings" to Technorati automatic. I'll let you know if there are any developments with that.
