Zikou, who has served the company for about 35 years in total, will leave the company on November 2, according to several media outlets, including the The Australian. Company officials did not respond to a request for comment tonight.

The executive's successor will reportedly be Jacqueline Hey, previously Ericsson's head of its north-west Europe division, who will commence in her local role on November 3.

The news comes just hours after one of Ericsson's key Australian customers, mobile carrier Vodafone, blamed the supplier for delays that meant its 3G mobile phone network would not be completed until next year.

Of course Zikou will get well looked after.

The poor bloke at the web site below worked his heart out and Ericsson gave him a ruined professional life.

I think this story is a good supplement to yours. I heard there was a party after he left...

  • Double Standards

The bloke who got sacked (as described in the article above) was actually a decent guy to work with. A couple of people raised reservations with management about terminating his contract. Plus, he was better at his job than the git they replaced him with.
Zikou on the other hand, had the people skills of Attila The Hun
