"If we have a history with a certain platform on a certain project, we continue using it for the sake of consistency. We run Microsoft with the smaller packages because the computing power is less on Microsoft," said Castello.
"In the near future, I don't see Ferrari using only Microsoft. But technology moves so fast it's not that easy to say. The background is that we are not in a position to accept that performance trade-off," he said.
"In the medium term, we can't say: 'Let's get an easier option and, even if for certain tasks it's not the best in class in terms of performance, we shall adopt only that because it's easier.' We have to have the best-in-class performance for every task. That's why we will continue to balance our choice of technology for the job ahead," said Castello.
