Mozilla has released teaser screenshots of Firefox for tablets, providing a look at the user interface in the upcoming web browser.

"Firefox for tablets is an evolution of its phone-based predecessor, with some added enhancements that take advantage of a tablet's larger screen size," Ian Barlow, visual designer for the Firefox mobile team, wrote in a blog post on Tuesday. "The Mozilla Mobile Team is working tirelessly to make Firefox awesome on tablets."

Few details of the overall browser were revealed, but Barlow did post some shots of the UI in its current stage of development.

Barlow said that the work-in-progress Firefox for tablets browser "looks right at home on Honeycomb 3.0" and that it draws its overall theme from Honeycomb's "minimalist design language".

However, it retains notable Firefox design features, such as the oversized 'back' button.
