France Telecom is the No. 1 broadband Internet services provider and No. 3 mobile operator in Europe.

Headquartered in Paris, France, the telecommunications company was established in 1988 under the division of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. France Telecom became an autonomous provider of public service, acting both as a telecom service provider and a telecom network operator in 1991.

In 2006, France Telecom's key brand Orange became the group's single brand for Internet, television and mobile services in the majority of countries where the company has operations, and Orange Business Services is the name for services offered to businesses worldwide.

The telecommunications giant has a workforce of 187,331 people who serve more than 177 million customers in five continents, of which two-thirds are Orange customers.
