Free broadband? Here's one better

There's no such thing as a free lunch, as offerings from Carphone Warehouse, Orange et al have proven - they may call it free broadband, but you still have to pay for something, whether it's mobile phone rental, call package rental or whatever. Now there's a company offering a free add-on to their broadband package - a whole PC.

French AOL-gobblers Neuf Cegetel have already started doing this over the Channel, and now it's Redten Internet's turn here in the UK. What is the world coming to, when £500 PCs are the freebie to a broadband connection?

The PC's not bad either (it ain't Core 2 Duo, but hey), probably because Redten is a sister company to e-tail vets Watford Electronics, and the package looks sound. But don't take my word for it. It's been a long day and I can't be bothered to go through the Ts&Cs in detail, so if you like the sound of it then go forth at your own peril.
