Fujitsu has made its second Australian acquisition in as many months with the purchase of local SAP consultancy, Supply Chain Consulting.

The acquisition adds to Fujitsu's existing local SAP interests and follows its $200 million acquisition earlier this year of Telstra's IT services business Kaz.

Fujitsu Australia's SAP clients have included Lotterywest, the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Vawdrey noted the acquisition would give its SAP consulting practice a presence in the Philippines. He told the Australian Financial Review today that it would add 400 staff to Fujitsu Australia's current headcount of around 5000, which was boosted following the acquisition of Kaz by 1500 from 3500.

"The acquisition will strengthen the expertise that our clients rely upon and will enhance our ability to present a strong offering in the Australian and South-East Asian markets," said Vawdrey.

Fujitsu recently won a portion of airline Qantas' desktop services deal from Telstra, which was in total worth $750 million over seven years to the telco. Vawdrey was unable to respond to questions from ZDNet.com.au at the time of writing.
