Salesforce.com has another accolade to boast about today.
Technology research firm Gartner, Inc. has included the CRM giant in its "Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Sales Force Automation." Essentially that means, according to Garnter's standards and judgment, that Salesforce must be doing something right and it is advancing enterprise technology better than most other companies.
Here's an extra nugget that describes how Gartner identifies a leader in the field:
Leaders demonstrate a market-defining vision of how technology can help top sales executives achieve business objectives. Leaders have the ability to execute against that vision through products, services and demonstrated, solid business results in the form of revenue and earnings. Leaders have significant successful customer deployments in North America, EMEA and the APAC region in a wide variety of vertical industries, with multiple proof points above 500 users. Leaders are often what other providers in the market measure themselves against.
In a statement, Salesforce listed the deployment of its Sales Cloud as the key contributor to its success, explaining that it has transformed how busineses connect and sell in the "social era."
To back up that claim, Salesforce also cited a customer survey that found its customers experienced a 32 percent average increase in sales productivity, a 30 percent average increase in social leads and a 27 percent average increase in revenue from using the Sales Cloud.
Salesforce also listed enterprise social network Chatter as a contributing factor too, but it should also probably count in some of the solutions its obtained as part of its many, many acquisitions. For instance, earlier on Thursday, Salesforce subsidiary Do.com's task management platform was updated with many more social integrations and a new deal-tracking platform designed to replace Microsoft Excel.
