Google has announced a new initiative designed to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship worldwide by supporting entrepreneurs in local communities.

Mary Grove, head of Global Entrepreneurship Outreach at Google, explained on the official Google blog on Monday that Google for Entrepreneurs will serve as "the umbrella" for several dozen programs and partnerships involving Google that support startups and entrepreneurs.

Additionally, Grove noted further that Google has several goals with this project, and at least two out of the three main objectives involve getting Google tools and products into the hands of the entrepreneurs worldwide.

Grove cited that there are approximately 400 million entrepreneurs across 54 countries, so that's a group for Google to tap now while their businesses off the ground.

Some of those programs include startup incubator programs such as Le Camping in Paris and most recently Women 2.0 in San Francisco. The latter group involves a program called Founder Fridays, which Google will be working on to extend to more cities globally over the next year from Moscow to Sao Paolo.
