Ratbags is ZDNet.com.au's light-hearted look at the Australian technology scene. Previously, we've investigated reports that the internet was going to run out of space, chased Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer all around Sydney, set fire to and microwaved a bunch of hard disks and asked people what they think of Windows 7 — or was it KDE4? We've even interviewed Fake Stephen Conroy in a hidden location.

Liam Tung

About Liam Tung

Liam Tung is an Australian business technology journalist living a few too many Swedish miles north of Stockholm for his liking. He gained a bachelors degree in economics and arts (cultural studies) at Sydney's Macquarie University, but hacked (without Norse or malicious code for that matter) his way into a career as an enterprise tech, security and telecommunications journalist with ZDNet Australia. These days Liam is a full time freelance technology journalist who writes for several publications.

About

Chris started his journalistic adventure in 2006 as the Editor of Builder AU after originally joining CBS as a programmer. After a Canadian sojourn, he returned in 2011 as the Editor of TechRepublic Australia, and is now the Australian Editor of ZDNet.

Suzanne Tindal

About Suzanne Tindal

Suzanne Tindal cut her teeth at ZDNet.com.au as the site's telecommunications reporter, a role that saw her break some of the biggest stories associated with the National Broadband Network process. She then turned her attention to all matters in government and corporate ICT circles. Now she's taking on the whole gamut as news editor for the site.

  • yes, Google..

so there are a total of 2 actual Google employees shown in that video. the rest were either Accenture (the other company in the building) or Fairfax-ers on their way to work. how do I know? I'm one of the Google employees in the video.

overall a pretty lame attempt at conjuring up some rivalry.

  • Number of actual employees...

...doesn't matter! It seemed like it was purely an amusing attempt to stir up some antipathy.

I enjoy some fun stupidity like this once in a while.

  • Googlers and their troglodytic ways.

Everyone knows Googlers don't come and go by the front-door. They have a Segway-friendly subterranean labyrinthine entrance.

  • Sorry

Sorry, but that is just abysmal. Its not even as if anyone looks miffed, just bemused.

Just because you go out and film something doesn't mean it is worth posting on the website.

Surely when you were editing this you realised it was just rubbish!?
