HP, Google recall Chromebook 11 chargers

Hewlett-Packard and Google said they will recall 145,000 HP Chromebook 11 chargers because they can overheat or melt.

The recall, outlined by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, covers HP Chromebook 11 chargers with the model number MU15-N1052-A00S. Google had nine reports of chargers overheating and will send out replacement chargers through its Chromebook site or via (866) 628-1371.

According to the CPSC, consumers should stop using the chargers and Chromebooks, which were sold at Best Buy, Google and HP.

The CPSC said it was still interested in reports of the charger hazards and any injuries.

      So why would HP or Google have someone specifically in charge of a recall? Did they put someone in charge of recalling that battery recall from HP a few years back?
