in brief Technology giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) has declined to reveal whether any of the 9000 jobs cut from its enterprise services division will come from its Australian operations.
HP announced overnight that it plans to shed 9000 jobs as part of a restructure of its enterprise services division to save the company around US$1 billion per year.
When contacted by ZDNet Australia this morning, HP refused to speculate on how the job cuts would affect Australian jobs. "HP will not be providing geographical locations of the job cuts at this time as final decisions have not been made," the company said in a statement.
As part of the restructure, HP plans to replace approximately 6000 of the chopped positions by increasing jobs in the sales and delivery services areas.
