HP's new iPAQs

Summary: HP has revamped its iPAQ range with no fewer than five new products, ranging from state-of-the-art smartphones to 'classic' PDAs.

HP iPAQ 914 Business Messenger

Aimed at mobile professionals who require a fully-featured device with a QWERTY keyboard, the iPAQ 914 Business Messenger is a chunky Windows Mobile 6 smartphone with an impressive specification: 520MHz Marvell PXA270 processor, 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE plus 3G/HSDPA connectivity, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, integrated GPS receiver and preloaded Google Maps, 3-megapixel camera (on 914c model) and microSD card slot. It has a 2.46in. touch-screen and weighs 146g. Talk time is rated at 4 hours, standby at 250 hours.

HP is keen to stress the corporate credentials of its new business-focused iPAQs, which come preloaded with the agent for HP's Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS). EMS facilitates over-the-air device setup, configuration, diagnostics and security.

The iPAQ 914 Business Messenger will be available in October/November and will cost £339 (ex. VAT) SIM-free.
