HTC is looking beyond its traditional consumer base and has taken steps to grow its enterprise business, according to a company executive.
Wayne Tang, HTC's south-east Asia product marketing manager, said aside from enterprise-targeted features on the company's HTC Flyer tablet, the company has been exploring with developers to create applications specific to businesses.
Tang told ZDNet UK's sister site ZDNet Asia that enterprise customers are most concerned with applications and security. Currently, Google's Android platform, which powers the HTC Flyer, is "not very recognised" as an enterprise mobile OS, he said, adding that Research in Motion's BlackBerry OS is a market leader is this space.
