Trojan Horse = Spyware/Adware SUE THEM!
Any changes to my computer that I do not desire, caused by a program/script/web page which Forces/tricks/deceives me, is a Trojan Horse, and is a crime under Cyber security law.

The Justice Department should prosecute any company that writes this kind of Trojan.

We, as the injured parties, should form a group and hire lawyers to sue and recover the costs of cleanup and downtime.

Failing this, we should identify the corporations which pay programmers to write Ad-Spy-Trojans and give them s piece of our minds. I would love to send a line or two to the companies who cause this.

Lastly, and probably most capable of making a difference, there should be a comprehensive list of web sites that employ any kind of Ad-Spy-Trojan-ware and use that list to prevent our firewalls, routers or computers from accepting such content. If we had a way of knowing that ABCXYZ.DOM was a known user of such techniques, we would avoid those web sites.

We need to identify who writes, funds and deploys these intrusions into our computers so we can avoid them. Deprived of web visitors, I bet those sites would quit pushing key loggers and other malware onto our systems.

At the very least, give me a list of who writes this stuff so I can send them several e-mails of protest.

Such techniques, like spam, reduce the value of using the internet.

If this continues, I will quit using the internet. The cost of cleaning up my computer weekly is amounting to two hours a week. At MIS pay scales, that $200 a week worth of my time.
That's $10,400 worth of cleanup per year, and that does not include the cost of the time I spent reinstalling OS and applications when removal tools fail (three times this year alone.)

If a million people (I am sure this is a conservative estimate) get these ad-Trojans, that's over ten billion dollars a year of lost productivity, and you gotta wonder what that does to the gross national product figures.

The makers, programmers and web sites that host this malware should pay for the cleanup. We should sure these companies out of business!
