"While the improvements had the desired effect...blah blah blah...."

These people are shameless. If a rocket launches but explodes after reaching a height of 500 feet, who cares about achieving the 'desired effect' of getting off the ground?

These idiots don't realize (or don't care) that their overload of subordinate clauses and ifs/ands/buts simply make them look more mendacious and incompetent than if they raised their hands and faced up to their error honestly.

Microsoft has taken a lot of punches and they have learned to keep the PR stooges out of it and simply fix the problem.

Preventing problems in the first place sounds simple enough, but apparently companies like Cingular are too busy cashing checks at the bank to deal with minor issues such as customers' personal information.
