- Maybe BITS of Cell One became Verizon
-
The original Cellular One (as owned by McCaw Cellular) was bought out by ATT. Much of its system was incorporated by them into ATT Wireless' system. The parts that overlapped and/or created anti-trust issues were spun into a new, separate Cellular One, which might be the company you referred to. But the bulk of the braintrust of the old McCaw bunch went to ATT Wireless (in fact, they RAN ATT Wireless, which became HQ'd in the old Cell One's facilities in Redmond, WA).
Considering how please I was with the old Cell One (having been with them since the late '80s), it's numbing how bad their service became under the ATT umbrella, and remained so if not degraded more after the spinoff of ATT Wireless from the parent company. - Posted by: flatliner Posted on: 07/05/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
