Don't forget security...
Presumably, the MS Access database you were exporting your information to was file-system protected against access.

Now that you are moving to a shared database model, you need to insure that every cannot search against everyone elses stored e-mail data... Or if you don't, make certain everyone accepts the fact that e-mails they put into the system will be searchable by everyone else.
