XML-based tool for SQL apps
For a couple of years my job was to webify the applications. After doing some projects for a couple of pioneer companies at 90s, we reached to a pattern that helped me to build apps by using some building blocks. I named each building block an element and used SGML to define the elements and the application itself. Soon after that I learned about XML and after prototyping the software engine (late 1998), found a company to fund the project in order to webify their apps. After 5 years, the company (www.telarix.com) grew more than 10 times and the applications powered by the engine were deployed across major telecom companies around the world. The team, who created these development tools, formed LogiXML.
We named the approach "Elemental Development" (http://www.logixml.com/rdPage.aspx?rdReport=AppDevWP). The main goal is to simplify the development and maintenance for web-based database oriented applications. It is being accomplished by separation of church and state in the application world that means technology tier from feature layer.
Based on the same approach, LogiXML created LGX Report (web reporting tool) that is being offered for free now. (http://www.FreeReporting.com)
The LogiXML community is growing rapidly and in order to accelerate bringing more people to the community, a number of pre-build applications will become available for free by October 2004 too.
If you would like to be a beta customer for either document management application or CRM and receive the tools and the application, please contact LogiXML (http://www.logixml.com/rdPage.aspx?rdReport=Contact).
