ZD will never do anything to really tick off M$FT, and likewise the US-CERT announcement is likely to get very little coverage. This moldy flagship browser product, unsafe to use? NEVER!

Therefore, this case of 'groupthink' in the popular IT media will prevent any honest rehash of the browser wars' legacy - a browser that is far past its prime still being the dominating product due to other factors (which we all know of).

Likewise, suggesting that people will be better off staying away from M$FT products won't earn the reporters any goodwill from Redmond, so instead pieces like this will be the norm ('Microsoft really outta...').

In reality, Firefox/Mozilla and Opera are so far past Internet Exploder that M$FT will have to steal some IP to catch up. Not like anyone will ever know...
