Have you tried Netscape
The solution for the sites writing only for IE is to complain to the sites. As more and more people switch to other browsers (and complain), web sites will be forced to make their sites compatible to other browsers.

In the complaint, mention that you no longer use IE due to security concerns, etc. and will stop using their site (and/or do business with them) if they don't support your browser.

Many web sites are set up to make money, and will have an incentive to make changes in order to prevent losing customers.
