I'm da man!

OK. I'm a basketball player. I need to prove that my team is the
best. We have two choices. We can play all the thousands of
teams of 11-year-old community ball players in North America,
and prove, errr...well, not very much, I guess. Or, we can take
on the Detroit Pistons. But gosh. There's only about 15 of
them, so according to your reasoning, that would mean nothing.

Regarding the software, if you add a Mac to your inventory,
make it a nice, cheap eMac to start. It is a great computer. It
comes loaded with everything you will need to begin enjoying
life - an adequate office suite, iLife, a good browser, and a
stunning operating system - and a few other goodies as well.
Don't cross anything over. If you need a PC program, use your
PC. If you need on the Web, use the best, malware-free tool -
the Mac. When you find that the Mac is working for you - and
you will - you can investigate moving software. Many
manufacturers are very helpful in this. In any event, it is a "You
can pay me now, or you can pay me later." kind of scenario.
