Maloney has held multiple positions at Intel including chairman of Intel China. In that role, he laid out Intel's strategy in China and aimed to develop executives there.

Before the China role, Maloney was co-general manager of Intel's Architecture Group and sales and marketing chief.

Maloney has held multiple roles in Asia as well as Europe at Intel. Maloney was seen as one of the key execs behind Intel's ultrabook push. The ultrabook aims to redefine laptops and PC, but so far reaction has been mixed relative to the success of tablets.

In April, Maloney spoke at Intel's IDF conference in Beijing. He emphasized China's role in Intel's innovations and the affect on industries like health care.
