Former Merrill Lynch technology chief joins London clearing house...
Clearing house LCH.Clearnet has appointed a new group CIO.
The organisation, which provides services to support financial trading and serves major international exchanges, appointed Tom Zschach to the role earlier this week.
Zschach previously worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was managing director and co-head of global rates and currencies technology infrastructure.
He has more than 21 years of technology experience in the financial industry, holding senior technology roles at several investment banks including Barclays Capital, Credit Suisse First Boston and Lehman Brothers.
Ian Axe, CEO of LCH.Clearnet, said in a statement: "Tom's wealth of experience as a technology leader, coupled with his deep industry knowledge, will enable us to sustain the highest possible performance to meet the needs of our customers across the globe.
"With regulators and legislators looking to introduce more products to clearing, providing a safe, reliable and robust technology infrastructure is crucial."
The position of group CIO at LCH.Clearnet was previously held by silicon.com CIO50 alumnus Martin Taylor. Taylor had been with LCH.Clearnet since joining the company as interim CIO in 2006.
