Computer manufacturer Lenovo has launched its slimmest-yet ThinkPad business laptop, the X1, along with an all-in-one multimedia desktop called the ThinkCentre Edge 91z.
The new ThinkPad X1 measures just 17mm thick and comes with a choice of Intel's standard-voltage, second-generation Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, which the company said are normally reserved for its 14 and 15-inch laptops.
The ThinkPad X1 comes with a 13.3-inch Corning Gorilla Glass screen for added scratch resistance, Dolby Home Theatre sound and a redesigned backlit keyboard that removes unused legacy keys.
"Our customers are looking for a business laptop that combines the best consumer multimedia and entertainment features with the latest performance and mobility innovations in a super-thin, stylish design," Dilip Bhatia, vice president of the ThinkPad business unit at Lenovo, said in a statement.
Business-focused features on the X1 include a 720p webcam and high-definition microphones for video and voice calling, optional mobile broadband connectivity, and Intel vPro encrypted hard drives with remote management support and fingerprint reader for authentication.
