  • Logo is fine

It fits the Metro look. It's a shame these same folks were unable to come up with a better new name for "Metro" than the galactically-stupid-on-so-many-levels "Modern UI".

on this pig.....It will still be a pig. Microsoft tactics will not change.

      " linux for me"
Funny, studies demonstrated that Apple fanboys experienced Apple as a religion, I guess you can say that about every fanboy (including you). If you want to use Linux, fine, but why click on this link which is clearly about Microsoft?
      • Didn't you know

the trolls of any article are normally the ones who would never use the product to begin with.

  • Doesn't do it for me

The new logo doesn't do it for me. The old logo looks like they paid a professional to design. The new logo looks like something someone whipped up as a temporary stand-in until they Art Department got back to them with the final design.
  • I like it

Clean is simple is generally what successful designs are.
  • Yawn

zzzzzZZZZ Come on that's about as exciting as the new 8 GUI Lame, did that also get designed by BOB or Sinofsky?
  • Snoooze!

At first glance, I thought this was an April Fools joke in August!

Sure, this new logo is simple, and references the now well known Windows logo, but from a design perspective, could it be any more *boring*? Do you think they used 'Paint' as their graphics app?
  • Less is more

Nice. Commands respect, if not love. Just like the company.
  • the intention is meant to imply "digital motion." ?

Did Microsoft actually say that, or is that the author's impression? The old logos had a dynamic look that implied motion. The new logo is as static as it could possibly be. The logo isn't bad-looking but to say it implies motion is absurd.
